The RoleThe RoleDirector – Strategic Investments / Operations (Construction / Australasia) The company is a worldwide market leader in its field! It is a publically listed company with over twenty five years of experience in the industry. This new role has been created due to the company’s exciting plan for aggressive growth in the coming decade and will be focusing on geographic expansion across Australasia. The initial objective of the role will be to undertake research, feasibility studies and develop a strategic plan to acquire or merge with companies in the region to advance the company’s mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organization, further overseeing the company’s operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and the cost-effective management of resources. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop a strategic plan to advance the company’s mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth as an organization. Oversee company operations to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and the cost-effective management of resources. Plan, develop, and implement strategies for generating resources and revenues for the company. Implement the company’s operational procedures, policies, and standards. Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions. Evaluate the performance of executives for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining objectives. Represent the company at legislative sessions, committee meetings, and at formal functions. Promote the company to local, regional, national, and international constituencies. . Oversee all division operations to include evaluating operating and financial performance. Other duties as assigned. |
RequirementsRequirementsTo be successful for the role you must have / be: Degree(s) preferably in engineering and / or business from leading universities Minimum 15-20 years of experience, 5 years in a similar role involving Strategic Business Development ideally in Australasia Proven track record of deals from inception to completion ideally within the construction industry in Australasia region Solid experience of managing due diligence and acquisitions Experience working in emerging markets Knowledge of affordable housing and building technologies a strong bonus, especially if supported by a strong network of contacts |
