Director of Anti-Piracy, Qatar

Our client is a global network of sports channels with headquarters across the Middle East, France, Indonesia and the US is currently undergoing significant executive talent growth given its formation in 2012. The firm currently operates and provides services across the Middle East, North Africa, France, USA, Indonesia, Canada, Hong Kong and Thailand. The Executive Team are now looking to recruit a Director of Anti-Piracy for the development design, launch and management of an Anti-Piracy Program for the firm.

Key objectives of the role comprise to:
- Ensure the appropriate and effective business, technology and legal strategies are in place to facilitate the Anti-Piracy program.
- Support all aspects of the core broadcast business both now and in the future. Its focus is to safeguard the firms Sport content distribution strategy and to ensure the firms obligations to their content rights are fulfilled.
- Anticipate and respond to the ever-changing demands and complexities related to the firms Sport activities in programme acquisition and distribution across all platforms.
- Ensure that the firm maintains and develops effective communication by building strong relationships across the business by engaging actively in the technology and operational needs (present & future) of the business, and identifying effective and efficient solutions.-

This role is responsible for the following:
- Lead cross functional teams in supporting anti-piracy program.
- Analyze existing internal anti-piracy programs.
- Design a new anti-piracy program with specific recommendations and investment recommendations.
- Meet with key stakeholders in the regions to understand current needs and to assess and suggest new approaches and programs for anti-piracy.
- Work with an internal anti-piracy task force composed of key senior stakeholders to approve and roll out new plan.
- Effectively roll out anti-piracy plan and measure success of plan based on agreed upon metrics.
- Develop anti-piracy budget.
- Provide reporting and regular updates to senior executives in the company.
- Identify resource requirements and timescales
- Advise and influence senior management level through structured communication of resource availability and shortfalls.
- Assist with the continual review of all operational practices ensuring optimum efficiencies and cost effectiveness.
- Forecast and assist in the setting of yearly budgetary requirements for Technology and ensure effective utilization of available resources within budget provision.
- Monitor and anticipate work-loads on a continuous basis such that the full impact of new requirements or initiatives can be fully understood and assessed.
- Maintain departmental resource management plans and to review these plans to identify opportunities for greater effectiveness or efficiency.
- Participate in the ongoing process of recruitment, development, motivation and retention of high caliber teams.
- Identify training needs and develop relevant training plans.

Requirements

- Bachelor Degree in IT, Information Security or comparable from a recognized University is required with a Masters being highly regarded.
- Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in Broadcasting, Media, Engineering or related industries.
- Previous successful track record of success in the anti-piracy area.
- Experience in the MENA region will be highly regarded.
- Exceptional communication skills with superior written and verbal English language skills.
- Ability multi task, work under pressure and problem solve are essential as well as the ability to work within a multi-cultural environment.
