Director of Export-Import and Business Development

Job description / Role

- To fully manage the existing export-import operations comprised of petrochemical and petroleum based commodities as well as industrial goods such as pipes, flanges, steel plates, and fittings.
- More notably, by utilizing the company resources, to devise and execute a master plan to further develop the existing trading activities and also expand into new opportunity areas and markets that may be divergent from the company's traditional business-lines.
- To build and manage a productive team to support and provide the necessary scale to achieve the objectives defined.
- To oversee the day to day business operations with a hands on approach whilst taking full responsibility for P&L of the operation and reporting to the managing director.

Requirements and Responsibilities:
You are an avid international marketer and business developer who benefits from a wide degree of creativity and latitude, and in-depth knowledge of B2B markets in GCC region.

You will manage and supervise complete Import/Export operations, including but not limited to:
- the completion of paperwork and all monetary transactions associated with deals including invoices for payment,
- the services and functions provided by customs brokers, carriers and freight forwarders,
- the compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements of local and international jurisdictions, and routing of pertinent shipping needs,

You have hands-on knowledge and experience with banking practices and procedures including Letter of Credits, payments, and utilizing trade finance facilities.

You are a natural at relationship building that will maintain good working relations with clients, vendors and government agencies, as wall as being in constant look out for further developing company's business network.

You have demonstrated verifiable success in project management and leadership responsibilities.

Requirements

- Minimum Bachelor's degree in commerce related disciplines / engineering fields.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of related work experience is required
- Excellent written and verbal command of English. Proficiency at one of the regionally relevant languages such as Arabic, Hindi or Turkish is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and people skills are essential
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills are critical
- Exceptional organizational and follow-up skills is required
- Strong Office suite and internet skills are necessary
