Director of Marketing
The job holder will be responsible for development of overall marketing strategies and plans to achieve the growth and market share objectives of the Group. The job holder will oversee design and coordination of customer initiatives, advertisements and media management in partnership with the function/division heads and will be responsible for promoting and protecting the brand image of the company amongst stakeholders (internal and external) through management of public relations and corporate communication.
Arabic - fluent - essential
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Marketing Management essential
Post-graduate degree in Business Administration preferably with specialization in Marketing
12 - 15 years of marketing experience preferably in service industry
5 years of experience in leading the formulation of corporate marketing strategy, planning and execution with proven ability in managing a Marketing and Corporate Communications function for a large business unit / organization
3 – 4 years of experience in exhibition or event management industry is desirable
Strategic planning and budgeting experience:
Work closely with the Board of Directors and the Senior Management to identify the marketing and branding strategy, and market positioning that the Group wishes to project.
Develop the annual marketing plan for the company including marketing budget and ROI, after in-depth analysis of the marketing requirements for upcoming expansion plans, new projects and other important events
Corporate Branding :
Define the companies corporate brand and oversee brand management strategy
Conduct regular brand valuations through consumer, market and financial information to capture brand’s performance
Ensure long term brand objectives are kept in focus – financial health, alignment with company’s vision, market share objectives
Media Planning & Buying:
Evaluate and identify vendors, media, advertising agencies/ channels/ partners for developing long-term relationships on behalf of the company as an entity, for rendering specific services
Ensure all marketing and advertising consultants and agencies used by the Group are monitored and perform effectively
Consumer & Market Research:
Co-ordinate customer insights and research (primary and secondary) through external agencies focusing on industry, consumer and economy trends that drive individual businesses
Work with critical business teams for identifying, evaluating and implementing effective ways of applying research findings to business
Monitor and analyze findings on competitors and market intelligence data and assess its impact on the Group marketing strategy
Document and present findings and recommendations to business and development groups
Initiate research and obtain feedback on the image and effectiveness of the Group’s corporate public relations, social initiatives, marketing, promotional events and programs
Communication and Public Relations:
Identify, maintain and innovate communication channels to communicate the companies brand and marketing concepts
Oversee maintenance of the Group website and its various sections, marketing brochures, in-house magazines, newsletters, e-mail alerts, greetings, presentations, etc.
Maintain the custody of all corporate presentation material including brochures, presentation templates etc.
Develop talent within the team by providing consistent direction and support to achieve stretch targets and take leadership positions
Retain and engage the talent employed and build a collaborative and high performance team
Enhance team productivity through skills development through coaching and training
Ensure objective periodic administration of the performance appraisal process followed by monitoring of feedback implementation for the team
