Our client is a global network of sports channels with headquarters across the Middle East, France, Indonesia and the US is currently undergoing significant executive talent growth given its formation in 2012. The firm currently operates and provides services across the Middle East, North Africa, France, USA, Indonesia, Canada, Hong Kong and Thailand. The Executive Team are now looking to recruit a Marketing Director to their global marketing team to lead the sales and marketing directorates and to develop and implement the sales and marketing strategies to align with the global and MENA strategic objectives. The key to this role is the delivery of all revenue streams. This role is measured through achievement of revenues through all distribution channels, growth in distribution network, revenues and subscriber, brand awareness, loyalty and perceptions as well as viewership.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Commercial and managing a high performing team; this role is responsible for the following:

• Establish and lead the sales and marketing strategy development and implementation across the firm’s MENA marketing, CRM, sales and distribution and advertising and sponsorship sales departments.
• Leadership of the sales and marketing teams including overseeing performance management, recruitment and departmental structures.
• The development of the product, pricing and packaging strategies and value added initiatives.
• Maintain good knowledge of the marketplace, the customer and competitor activity to support the appropriate sales and marketing activities.
• Commission and analyze audience research and departmental reports to establish effectiveness of sales and marketing strategies and determine any actions to be taken.
• Develop appropriate departmental performance targets and manage plans and forecasts for their achievement.
• Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
• Represent the firm’s MENA sales and marketing division at relevant industry events.
• Provide leadership and oversight of the establishment of efficient business and operational process across the sales and marketing departments.
• Establish and manage the ethical standards for all sales and marketing activities.
• Plan and manage the sales and marketing divisional budget and appropriate budget allocations at departmental level.
• Produce regular activity reports detailing sales and marketing divisional achievements, results, and evaluation

Requirements

The attributes we seek for suitably qualified candidates comprise:

• Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business or related fields, a Master Degree in related fields is preferred.
• A minimum 12 years of professional experience in in the media industry with experience 5 years in a marketing leadership role for a large and complex media organization being essential.
• Bilingual language skills in English and Arabic essential.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Sales and Marketing in the MENA territories with knowledge of Sales and Marketing industry practices and trends in media businesses required.
• Candidates with knowledge of Sports channels content, output and talent will be highly regarded.
• Able to provide effective leadership to a diverse team of sales and marketing professionals and deliver a diversity of projects within deadlines and budgets.
• Candidates must be able to work under pressure plus develop and manage budgets.
