The RoleThe RoleOne of my clients, a leading Telco company in Afghanistan, is looking for a Director of Network Infrastructure Expansion to work a long term contract. Basic Salary: $100K / Year (Tax-Free) Benefits: Accommodation, Transport, Class-1 Security, Medical & Life Insurance, 4 Return Flights, Food, Mobile, Annual Bonus, Termination Bonus, etc. Reports To: Head of Technology Job Purpose: Lead a team of managers responsible for GSM network expansion including sites acquisition, construction, installation & commissioning of technical equipment and repair of infrastructure Essential Duties and Responsibilities: BSS Network expansion plans implementation Preparation of site infrastructure design and as built diagrams Acquisition of land/space for new sites or expansion in expansion in existing sites. Renewal of operational sites lease agreements Construction and preparation of infrastructure for new as well as expansion in existing sites. Deployment, installation, commissioning of BTS, BSC, Transmission equipment and handing over to O & M. It includes installation, commissioning and expansion of power generation, distribution and environment equipment for all BSS, Transmission, MSC and office buildings/sites Arrangement, installation, commissioning and repair support for city/commercial power connection Office facilities and technical buildings construction/expansion plans preparation and implementation Repair and maintenance of operational sites, offices and technical buildings infrastructure Monitor and ensure network expansion targets are achieved by the team Work with Managers to define work and implement processes/standards and maintenance best practices. Control capital and operating budget expenditures Represent team to internal/external customers and vendors. Build relationships with other areas of the technology department and encourage a culture of teamwork and collaboration across the technology teams. Establish and maintain regular communication with staff, set development objectives and give performance feedback in order to create a high performance culture within the group. Continuously strive for greater efficiencies within the group with a view to achieving improvements across the Technology Organization. Arrange on-job training for the departmental staff Provide assistance in counseling and motivation of engineering staff Ensure best utilization of available human, material and financial resources Manage follow-up on all sorts of audits Audit group for Health and Safety Accreditation Provide Status reports for all active projects within the Group Manage setting targets for the regional managers and team leaders and monitoring of the results Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Qualifications: A minimum of ten years in cellular Engineering or Operations with at least 2 years in network infrastructure expansion management from a senior management level. Mathematical ability to calculate budgets, business-cases, capacity planning etc. ? Workforce forecasting and scheduling experience Education: ? Bachelor?s degree required in engineering, information technology or related field, with educational focus combining technical, problem-solving, business, and management skills ? or equivalent in education and experience Accountabilities and Measures: Work Environment: Work takes place in an office environment. Schedule is driven by demands of the business. As a salaried position the incumbent is ineligible for overtime pay. |
