Director of Secure Communications

A leading authority in Cyber Security in the Middle East is seeking an energetic and experienced Director of Secure Communications to lead an innovative and enthusiastic engineering team responsible for designing, building, and delivering market-leading products. You will own all initiatives to build a highly talented engineering team, scale technology, execute on an aggressive roadmap, institute best engineering practices, and deliver innovative products. You must be an effective recruiter and manager, promote a collaborative team culture, and ignite passion within the team to build a world-class platform and products.

Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering organization to design, build, and deliver innovative, high quality products on schedule.
- Work with Product Management to define product strategy and roadmap.
- Help set the technical direction for the team, drive the design and evolution of system architecture, and make appropriate technology decisions
- Manage the full product development lifecycle: develop project and resource plans/schedules, set and communicate goals, manage project execution, provide visibility into detailed tracking of project status and metrics, and demonstrate ownership and accountability for the entire product delivery process.
- Build a strong, agile, and innovative engineering organization; recruit, manage, mentor, and retain talents.
- Establish best practices in terms of engineering processes, quality and test strategies, metrics, engineering tools and infrastructure, DevOps methodologies, and innovation initiatives.

Requirements

- BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of experience in Software Engineering
- 5 years of experience in engineering management, primarily on product development
- Strong experience with product life-cycle process from conception through development into production
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong experience building and delivering enterprise-grade software products across the full stack (cloud/ mobile/web)
- Strong leadership skills in building a high-performing engineering team through talent and organization development
- Extensive experience with modern agile development methodologies and test-driven, iterative development practices
- Cross-functional influence, relationship building, and project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, including executive communication, group communication within technical and non-technical teams, and customer interactions
- Experience creating budgets and managing to them

Desirable:
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing large scale, distributed software architectures across the full stack (cloud/mobile/web)
- Experience with security architecture, cryptography, network security, secure communication protocols, data protection, authentication, authorization, and application security
- Experience in building high-performance, highly available, multi-tier cloud services including web servers, application servers, databases and infrastructure
- Experience in leading distributed teams
