Document Controller

Job description / Role

The role based at Zayed University Abu Dhabi, is to provide an efficient document control management service for operational use and archiving whilst complying with the IMS System.

Key Job Responsibilities

Document Management:
- Oversee all documents from different departments and ensure all is properly organized in accordance with the IMS System
- Manage the receipt and transmittal process for all Base Build information and file documents, as per disciplines where everybody can understand and easily find what they need
- Audit all documents and ensure everything is covered when an internal or third party Audits istaking place
- Point of contact in coordination with Aconex System (Online Document Management System)
- Ensure documents are registered and tracked all the time
- Point of contact in coordination with third parties in correlation to Fitout Design drawing process
- Manage and maintain space plan
- Manage the Statutory Inspection tracker
- Manage the Taking over Certificate, Warranty and Defects tracker(s)

CAD Responsibilities:
- Update As Built drawings incorporating in changes to systems or facility.
- Various graphic designing (e.g. access card badge design, photo editing, logistic maps, etc)
- General assistance on engineering/construction related items
- Day to day assistance to different departments - General drafting, drawing review, presentationsn and all other similar sorts

Other Tasks:
- Assist the project engineering tean with Adhoc and Life Cycling project work.

Requirements

- Having a very good background in Architectural designing, standards and construction principles
- Adequate knowledge on engineering technical items
- High level of computer literacy
- Proficient in Microsoft Offices program
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings for different disciplines
- Ability to plan and manage own workload within agreed timescales without supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- 5 years` experience in operating CAD programs on an expert level (e.g. AutoCAD 2d & 3d, 3d Max, Adobe programs - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketchup & Microsoft Offices)
- 3 years` experience acting as an Architectural Assistance highly involved in large scale projects (Architectural Firm)
- 2 years` experience as a CAD Manager in an international Architectural Firm acting as the point of contact for CAD related items in Abu Dhabi office
- 1 year experience on document management in accordance to IMS System
- Acquired BS in Architecture
