Job description / Role
Our client is a leading bank in the Middle East and is looking for a Documentation Officer to join their Credit Risk Control department in Abu Dhabi. The main purpose of this position is to support the Global Markets Business by processing and coordinating legal documents. It will be responsible for negotiating legal agreements specialising in ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support, Guaranties and Ancillary documents.
A few of the key responsibilities can be highlighted as follows:
* Legal administrative processing of all Global Markets documentation in coordination with the Legal Department and other business units in the bank. Act as the main link between the business, the client and the legal department.
* Support, process and maintain all legal documentation and trading agreements for the Global Markets unit. These documents include ISDA/CSA and GMRA documents required to conduct derivatives trading with both corporate clients and Financial Institutions, Islamic Murabaha and Wakala agreements, industry related memberships, system contracts, SLAs, NDAs ,Brokerage agreements and all other Legal Contracts signed by the business in support of business activities
* Safekeeping: Ensure proper custodianship of all original signed documents.
* Negotiating and Managing documentation - A sound understanding of reviewing, drafting, researching and negotiating complex legal contracts with key clients to the bank. Reviewing and drafting contacts on a daily basis conducting best practice to ensure documentation is inline and coherent with the companies policies and procedures while eliminating possible risks. Furthermore, reviewing of Trade Product guarantees, Enforceability Opinions for various jurisdictions and general support of middle office and operations
* Support in negotiating terms, conditions and commercial issues with counterparties and contractors for Legal and Business contracts within the Global Market division. Contracts include ISDA's, CSA's GMRA's, NDA's, Islamic Agreements, FX trading, Brokerage Agreements, SLA's, Bond syndication Agreements, Trade and Licensing Agreements and other legal contracts signed within GM.
Requirements
An ideal candidate should have experience in Banking, with ISDA, have had experience legal documentation, with an understanding of Global Markets. The candidate should have between 5 - 10 yrs of experience.
* Work experience gained in a role requiring significant problem solving skills.
* Degree in Finance or Legal
* 5- 10 Yrs of experience in a bank, with a good understanding of financial Markets instruments
* English (Fluent professional read & write) Strong networking skills and communication skills
* Financial Markets Para-Legal operational support experience
