Draftsman

Job description / Role

- To action routine drawings based on sketches made by Project Engineers.
- To ensure the drawings produced are correctly revised and numbered.
- To interface with Designer and Engineers involved ensuring the drawing has all the requirements for the project.
- Under supervision/in consultation with Senior Engineer, produce accurate drawings to a professional standard.

Produce and understand:
- Detailed drawings and apply specifications for mechanical equipment, structural and civil applications.
- Layout drawings from all angles to depict function relationships of systems, components, assemblies and machines.
- General Layout drawings with surveyor information and topographical.
- Process & Instrument Flow Diagrams for various processes.

Finish and duplicate drawings and documentation packages, according to required mediums and specifications for reproduction.

Ensure quality of drawings and concepts:
- Modify and revise drawings to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
- Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from civil engineers to ensure that they con form to design concepts.

Analysis: Determine quality and quantity of required materials, and enter figures on materials lists.

Support the Senior Engineer in various activities to improve the efficiency of the Department by:
- Continuous improvement: identifying and implementing better ways of doing drawings at every opportunity.
- Continually striving to meet or exceed expected quality of work output of the role.

Requirements

- Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
- 2 years of relevant experience in drafting in Contracting or Industrial Process plants

Specialist knowledge:
- CAD
- AutoCAD

Nationality Preference: Omani
Language Fluency: English
