Job description / Role
ABOUT CLIENT :
An exciting opportunity with an established leading Middle East based National Oil Company that functions throughout onshore development sites as well as in the shallow coastal waters with a number of productive oil fields.
JOB PURPOSE & SCOPE:
• Supervises cement, mud & waste management activities on drilling and workover rigs.
• Evaluates & recommends engineering concepts, designs & development for drilling & work-over operations. Advises on viability of new techniques and technologies relevant to cement, mud & waste management activities.
• Ensures technical integrity & HSE requirements are met cost effectively throughout the well life cycle. Participates in tender preparation & evaluation and contractors pre-qualification and selection.
• Ensures safe, economic & technically sound decisions are taken to meet companys requirements. Acts as an authority & functional advisor on all aspects of cement, mud & waste engineering.
• Supervises the activities of assigned personnel and the mud/cement laboratory. Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial authorities at the level established for the position.
• Challenges current practices and develops innovative solutions to alleviate operational problems.
• Introduces new techniques/ technologies to improve efficiency & quality in well construction.
• Troubleshoots related operations and advises on remedial techniques.
• Defines technical requirements and contractual strategies for the relevant contracts. Evaluates bids and recommends award strategy.
• Supervises the performance of relevant contractor to ensure efficient & cost effective operations.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• B.Sc in chemistry, petroleum or relevant Engineering or Science discipline.
• 12 years experience in oil drilling and workover cementing operations.
REMUNERATION:
An attractive remuneration will be negotiated with the successful candidates and will be in line with a competitive industry standard.
