Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Lead, plan and manage the design & implementation of strategies and policies related to all functions in the Drilling Fluids Services and Brine Plant activities, making the necessary studies for market requirements of the various services, approaching and negotiating terms of cooperation with reputable technical partners for the new programs ensuring effective operations as per ESNAAD business requirements, in accordance with defined quality standards to achieve customer satisfaction and department objectives.

1. Develop an integrated production strategy for the Brine Plant in line with the functional strategy to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies across ESNAAD.

2. Cascade the Drilling Fluids Services Departments including strategic objectives and key performance indicators into operational plans and monitor their implementation ensuring the delivery of high quality service to ESNAAD and its customers in accordance with strategic plans.

3. Ensure that departmental strategies and related strategic plans are developed and implemented, which are aligned with the vision and mission of ESNAAD.

4. Define and seek approval for an optimum organisation structure for the Drilling Fluids Services department including field engineering services and Brine Plant operations and individual service cells so that resources are optimally utilised and communication can take place in an efficient manner.

5. Oversee the consolidation and recommend the Drilling Fluids Services department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and potential areas of cost reduction or performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.

6. Together with the Manager, Oilfield Services Division, analyse and establish the budget and plans for the proposed projects and plant activities to ensure effective planning of work schedules and achievement of targets, whilst adhering to ESNAAD - HSE/Quality standards.

7. Manage the effective achievement of Drilling Fluids Services department objectives through leadership of the department – setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximise subordinate and the performance of the section.

8. Lead and manage the effective operations of the department and supervise operations in order to ensure all activities are in accord to defined quality and HSE standards supporting timely achievement of department objectives.

9. Interview and evaluate qualifications for field services engineers, brine plant supervisor and other subordinates, approve the successful qualified service hands interviewed by Senior Field Services Engineer in order to ensure adherence to the maintenance of desired skill levels of the team.

10. Conduct daily operations/activities progress meeting with the team evaluates/delegates responsibilities to the concerned parties, discuss work schedules, review and endorse Drilling Fluids service programs and procedures to facilitate completion of tasks as per required standards.

11. Ensure operational excellence and achievement of objectives in the Drilling Fluids services and Brine Plant operations by providing direction and technical support to all main activities such as job designing ,equipment preventive maintenance programs, personnel training etc. in adherence with defined quality and HSE standards.

12. Represents company and attends meetings with customers ensuring effective communications and optimum protection of ESNAAD business interests.

13. Leads the analysis and conducting of feasibility studies for proposed projects provide recommendations to management to ensure successful operations.

14. Provides expert advice and support to all related operations, sales and resolution of customer issues to ensure optimum satisfaction and achievement of business objectives.

15. Review and develop document requirements and formats in coordination with company’s standard documentations & procedures as necessary with concerned parties.

16. Approve processing of invoices issued by Finance and Control division in view of current contracts with customers to ensure accurate settlement of payment as per agreement.

17. Organize the maintenance of Brine plant and ensure all associated facilities remain at peak operating levels, whilst coordinating material/ consumable ordering and storage and shipment requirements for bagged/bulk products to support effective plant operations as per defined housekeeping and HSE standards.

18. Lead and supervise the setting of brine mixing parameters of chemicals, arranging laboratory tests and adjusting production conditions during operation to ensure quality and efficiency.

19. Control the storage and shipping of finished products according to specifications received from the Contractor or Procurement Services Department, providing guidance on types of quantities for bulk shipment, monitoring activities, ensuring quantities and identification of completed products to ascertain adherence to defined procedures and standards.

20. Plan and control the maintenance and repair of Brine Plant equipment and facility, production process areas and mobile equipment in liaison with ESNAAD Base Operation Division and Engineering Department team to schedule preventive maintenance, raises work orders for repairs and to schedule urgent repairs to ensure effective functioning of equipment and support continuous operations.

21. Conduct ongoing inspections of the plant to identify malfunctions and requirements for Plant modifications in order to meet hanging business requirements whilst discussing and revisions to maintenance intervals in order to support production requirements.

22. Oversee the activities of Equipment Supervisor involved in inspection and maintenance of Company mobile equipment and ensure semi annual inspection and annual certification of lifting equipment by third party surveyor is carried out timely including timely registration and insurance renewal.

23. Coordinate with local police authorities on investigation of accidents involving company equipment and vehicles, ensuring that Operators registrations and licenses are current and renewed in good time.

24. Review/update applicable procedures for changes in work practice and implement internal/external audit findings to support continuous improvement of service levels.

25. Liaise with the ESNAAD Engineering Department Team to ensure timely maintenance, repair and servicing of equipment to minimise equipment downtime.

26. Coordinate for the products qualification process for commercial tendering and contract awarding, together with the Oil Field Services Division Manager, Contracts Manager and Procurement Department, to ensure that all product requirements and services are provided cost efficiently in line with defined standards and procedures ensuring optimum protection of ESNAAD’s business interests.

27. Provide technical advice in developing RFPs and RFQs, coordinate for short listing vendors & third party service providers (Contractors) and monitor all Contractual operations related to the department to ensure cost effective and quality services are obtained for ESNAAD from all related contracts.

28. Issue Technical Service Request to ESNAAD’s technical partner and ensure timely receipt of services as per contractual agreements to facilitate effective operations in the Department.

29. Ensure maintenance of information / records of all contracts handled by the Department.

30. Ensure effective inventory management of all department requirements, spare parts and materials orders supervise supply contracts, activities related to the ordering, receipt and utilisation of materials and ensure the timely replenishment of resources.

31. Facilitate accurate procurement of stocks by participating in the technical evaluations of the merchandise and advising on the operational requirements.

32. Develop and oversee the implementation of department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of the Drilling Fluids Services department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.

Requirements

Knowledge:

1. A Bachelor's degree in any Engineering discipline or equivalent from an internationally recognized university.

2. 15 years oilfield experience in the drilling fluids services with related professional training courses and minimum 5 years managerial background in related activities in the drilling fluids services plant operation activities.
