The RoleThe RoleThe multiple award-winning Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts has been conceptualized as a “Sanctuary for the Senses” whose beautiful properties can be found in stunning locations such as the Seychelles, the Maldives, Bintan (Indonesia), Phuket (Thailand), Bangkok (Thailand), Ringha (China) and Lijiang (China). In partnership with the iconic and landmark development the Meydan Racecourse, Banyan Tree will be operating “The Meydan” Hotel consisting of 280 Suites, 5 spectacular restaurants, a signature Banyan Tree Spa and meeting facilities for up to 400 guests. Within the First phase of the recruitment process, we are looking for an experienced and qualified management team to lead this exciting project. Duty Manager's Responsibilities: 1. Directs and controls all subordinate Front Office associates to ensure that day to day operational matters are handled on time and guest expectations are met. 2. Provides guidance and assistance to Front Office supervisory staff helping them in the execution of their responsibilities and helping them to set their own goals and objectives. 3. Oversees the service standards in all Front Office & Guest areas ensuring that they conform to the requisite standards and meet or exceed customer expectations. 4. Assists in the preparation of duty rosters, vacation planning and scheduling and public holiday scheduling. 5. Assists in the preparation of the hotel’s annual budget, and helps to maximize the yield of the hotel and control departmental expenses. 6. Conducts frequent front and back of house checks ensuring mise-en-place, service procedures, standards of cleanliness and hygiene, repair and maintenance, employee grooming, and manning levels are in order and takes appropriate action where necessary. 7. Assists in the maintenance of efficient administration preparing and submitting reports on time as directed 8. Assists in the selection, training and evaluation of subordinate employees 9. Coaches, counsels, disciplines and develops subordinate employees 10. Acts as a liaison between the Front Office Manager and Front Office supervisory staff appraising him/her of the situation and updating him/her on issues of importance 11. Acts as a liaison and takes responsibility on Senior Management behalf in all areas of the hotel in their absence. 12. Reports all challenges and/or events that have taken place within the hotel premises in the Duty Manager Log Book. |
RequirementsRequirements• With 2 – 3 years relevant experience in similar position in a International Luxury hotel • Knowledge of Opera preferred. Word, Excel, Outlook knowledge required. • Excellent guest problem resolution experience and skill. • Has an ability to remain positive and calm under pressure. • Excellent record keeping and follow up skills. • Numerical and statistical ability. Positive, caring, and focused. • Excellent recruiter. Ability to develop future front office managers. • Good communications skills in English |
