Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Records routine and portable electroencephalographs (EEG) on digital equipment.
- Records brainstem auditory evoked potentials, visual evoked potentials and somatasensory evoked potentials and performs nerve conduction studies.
- Reviews pertinent information in patients chart including history and physical and other information prior to and after patient arrival
- Utilized the International 10-20 System of electrode placement
- Accurately measures and marks the placement position for each electrode
- Uses material and techniques to assure optimal electrode site preparation while minimizing patient discomfort
- Makes decisions about electrode placement when adjustments need to be made
- Knows the appropriate montages for each modality
- Utilizes systematic troubleshooting procedures and methods to correct artifacts and maintain signal integrity
- Discriminates between patient and devised induced artifact
- Follows professionally accepted guidelines for evoked potentials

Requirements

- Bachelor Degree of 3 years in the field of Applied Sciences, Neurophysiology or Biophysics or equivalent from a recognized institution
- OR Completion of Secondary School or its equivalent AND 1 year certification program approved in home country
- Minimum 2 years post graduate experience in a hospital setting
Current license as a EEG Technician in home country and in current country of work
- Fluency in written and spoken English (Arabic language skills are well regarded)
- Demonstrated competence in EEG, nerve conduction studies and evoked potentials
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills to include but not limited to electrode positioning, troubleshooting, interaction with other medical personnel, etc
- High level of verbal and written communication skills
- High level of interpersonal and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage patient schedules
- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality patient care
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary
