Employment: Full Time

A leading semi-governmental organization based in Abu Dhabi is looking to recruit experienced EHS Coordinators to join their dynamic team of professionals.

The desired candidates must have experience with manufacturing or printing industry. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in an Environmental Health and Safety role. UAE Nationals are first priority for this role.

The EHS Coordinator is responsible for developing, communicating, implementing and monitoring safety and environmental programs to protect Organizations people, equipment and facility, and for ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and environmental requirements.

The responsibilities are as follows:
- Acts and behaves in a way that is compliant with company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to Environment, Health and Safety, ethics and codes of conduct.
- Reinforces the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures set out by Organizations.
- Assists in the identification of possible EHS related losses and evaluates the risk in such loss exposure. Develops and implements a plan to correct or prevent any losses, and audits the plan to ensure its effectiveness.
- Maintains and updates SOPs as needed for all safe work practices and equipment, and utilizes them in day to day training.
- Ensures an adequate supply of water for human consumption and firefighting activities.
- Advises, assists and audits management to ensure that effective EHS is implemented.
- Performs and contributes to the facility training plans by conducting employee orientations and emergency response training.
- Ensures inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected.
- Coordinates with the Engineering Manager, Production Manager and Program Director on facility deficiencies and monthly safety inspections.
- Maintains all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements.
- Maintains filing systems regarding worker training and safety.

Requirements

- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field
- 5 years of experience in an Environmental Health and Safety role, preferably within the printing industry
- Proficient in English; Arabic is a plus
- Knowledgeable of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety operations for the protection of people and property
- Knowledgeable of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and chemical processes and transformations that entities similar to Organizations undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods
- Capable of using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Excellent communicator
