Job description / Role
Responsible for the development, monitoring, support and implementation of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) EHS programs. This is for field operations and office sites; as well as monitoring and assuring the level of compliance with applicable EHS Laws & Regulations, and Company & Customer Requirements.
Responsible for coordinating EHS Team composed by the EHS Field Support Specialist
Management and other Organizations delivering support to Project Execution within KSA (i.e. Procurement, HR, FF) and act as Management representative for KSA for the purposes of the documented Health and Safety Management System and the externally certified Environmental Management System required by Telecom Operator.
Incumbents activities are based on Networking with Top Management, Project Management, Line Management, Contractor Representatives, Customer EHS and Project Management
Representatives and are composed primarily by: training, education, consultancy, legislative review, compliance assurance, contractor EHS Management and coordination amongst the Teams and Sites on specific compliance and prevention actions.
This position is the EHS Leader for Project Execution and Regulatory Compliance within KSA and is accountable for EHS results before Overall and FF Management.
Although this position has a local Approver, receives direct operative and technical support by the Corporate EHS Office Regional Leader EMEA and the Director EHS Global Deployment and Managed Services.
Duties:
Develops specialized technical studies on request by ALU Top / FF Management and Customers
Assists the different Installation and MS Teams in preparing Project and Site Level EHS
Performs waste/scrap Management
Interacts with Customer EHS and Project Management Representatives
Performs EHS Audits and Inspections to actual Project Sites
Delivers EHS training
Supports Sales and Project Teams
Requirements
a) Minimum grade of schooling required is Chemical, Environmental, Sanitary, Industrial, Electronics or Civil Engineering Degree. Registered as Safety/Environmental Engineer as per KSA applicable qualification Rules.MANDATORY.
b) Additional knowledge acquired by attending specialized training related to EHS matters, Masters Degree on Safety, Environmental Engineering or Industrial Hygiene desirable; with a strong knowledge of South Africa EHS Regulatory Framework. DESIRABLE.
