With major spending occurring around the world on significant infrastructure projects, the country of Qatar has certainly joined the spree. This new USD 3 billion mega airport project, affectionately named the New Doha International Airport (NDIA) is set to become a major stopover destination for global air travellers.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, this senior position will be responsible for the testing and commissioning of electrical services of this new mega development located in Doha, Qatar. You will be engaged across the entire project on behalf of the leading construction joint venture team, though will be predominantly be involved in the commissioning of the main passenger terminal building, with commissioning recently commenced.

Your duties will include:
• On site supervision of the commissioning activities of electrical services including setting up processes, tick offs and coordination, and interfacing with the client,
• Training staff on systems,
• Attending regular meetings with clients and consultants as required,
• Overseeing quality control and safety matters on site,
• Periodic reporting on the progress of work.

Requirements

To be successful for this role you will need to have:
• A degree in Engineering (with relevant studies in the field of electrical or MEP or building services),
• A minimum of 10 years experience in an Electrical or Building Services Commissioning Manager role for major international construction projects, and some experience with MEP services in airport construction,
• Strong project management skills, coordination skills, computer skills, multi tasking abilities and a talent for driving solutions to achieve outcomes in a fast paced environment,
• Gulf experience will be highly advantageous.
