Employment: Full Time

The Electrical Engineer supervises and coordinates the electrical engineering team in performing electrical engineering work including design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of systems and equipment, ensuring work is of the highest quality and that stocks of supplies, tools and equipment are maintained at an optimal and cost effective level. The incumbent monitors direct reports, maintains certification, licensure and skills level to meet Sidras operational service and quality goals.

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supervises the installation and commissioning of new and revised equipment
- Manages all aspects of engineering work during commissioning and startup phase, including investigation, specification, training, budget and documentation
- Provides engineering technical instruction, training, expertise, and problem resolution for department related activities
- Assists in the implementation of appropriate policies and procedures
- Monitors and approves work conducted by staff, contractors, vendors, and outsourced providers
- Assists in development and implementation of initiatives, engineering processes, communications, analysis of department function and recommendations for process and organizational change.
- Monitors and reports on all applicable regulatory codes and accreditation standards meeting compliance requirements.
- Assists in development and oversight of preventive maintenance program for all electrical, electronic, calibration and controls equipment with periodic evaluation and program effectiveness
- Liaises with service providers to schedule system shutdowns as necessary with appropriate departments and administrators and develops contingency plans for system failures.
- Reviews established preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for effective and efficient use of labor and material.
- Provides support to emergency MEP response situations.
- Provides shift cover.
- Performs other duties as required by the Director Facilities Management and Operation.
- Adheres to Sidras standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.

In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra during this pre-operational phase, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.

Requirements

- 8+ years experience in Electrical systems at similar Facilities, 5 years of which should be in the healthcare environment as maintenance management function.
- Experienced in the application of IEE regulations.
- Experienced in CAFM & CMMS systems and their use in support of wider management information.
- Experience working on a project of similar technical complexity as the Sidra Facility.
