Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The opportunity has arisen to join this exciting project based in Jeddah KSA and help mould the future of their city.
 
Our client and global engineering consultancy is looking for an electrical engineer.
 
The role requirements are as follows but not limited to:
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Draft new or update existing Electrical specification clauses
Review Tender and Contract documents prepared for Electrical work prior to Tender invitation and award,
To assist in the preparation of design reports and budget estimate for Electrical work
To be familiar with the various types of international conditions of contract e.g. FIDIC
Liaise with clients to obtain feedback on Electrical matters,
Ensure design and documents are prepared as per the brief from the client
Assist in matters regarding building permits on Electrical issues
Liaison with the design section on all technical aspects with regards to Electrical matters and updating specifications whenever required
To apply new technologies as required to Electrical issues and update / advise as necessary
Apply quality management system
To be familiar with the financial and admin.
Attend meetings as required eg. technical, financial etc.
To be responsible for the preparation of design, specification and tender documents for all Electrical  work
A good knowledge of LV,MV and HV transmission and distribution networks
A good knowledge and requirement in material selection eg:- motors, switch gears etc
A good knowledge on the design of control panels, bus bars, power cables etc
To contribute to training needs and H&S issues
Train new and junior staff and act as a mentor and monitor development.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 10 years dealing with Electrical aspects of infrastructure work including pumping stations and power distribution in developments.
Experience of specification writing, design, site installation and commissioning.
Experience in projects involving government departments; public and private organizations.
Culturally sensitive with experience in operating in a multicultural environment.
Sound written and verbal communication skills together with interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain a pro-active and organized approach.
Pragmatic but with good attention to detail.
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or higher
Professional Engineering License
Competent at Microsoft Word and Excel and other design software
5-7 years with internationally renowned engineering consultants
