Electrical Engineer

Job description / Role

Electrical Engineer reports directly to the Lead Electrical Engineer, and ultimately to the Maintenance Manager. The Electrical Engineer will fulfil the day to day electrical maintenance activities at the power plant.

Additionally, responsible to support the major outages of the plant, ensuring that the plant meets availability, reliability, efficiency, generation and cost targets, safely and within strict environmental limits.

Requirements

- Graduates holding a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related degree
- Good electrical engineering foundation and practical knowledge of how it applies to modern power plant technologies
- Power plant engineering concepts
- Strong understanding of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment management systems and safety rules.
- Ability to coordinate activities with Operations Department personnel
- Ability to give accurate feedback on equipment problems and suggest solutions
- Good command of the English language
- Good planning and reporting skills
- Good IT and interpersonal skills
- Ability to recognise safety issues and hazards to personnel, and to act on own initiative in preventing incidents
- Ability to work calmly in emergency situations and to recognise and attend to critical tasks
- Ability to work with multi cultural and multi disciplinary staff
- Motivation and leadership of colleagues and subordinates (for Senior Technicians)
- Seek, organise and exchange information for decision making and problem solving
- Ability to create a climate of open communication on personal and professional issues
