The RoleThe RolePosition reports to: Group Engineer PURPOSE Work under the direction of the engineering staff to apply electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Allocate labour resources (Electricians and Senior Instrumentation Technicians) to scheduled and priority activities. Maintenance of all instrumentation/electrical infrastructure and equipment within the Plant. Ensure that all work practices are executed in compliance with legal requirements. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure safety and maintenance standards. Ensure that process remains fully operational. Good employee relations. Effective administration of systems. Support the achievement of the Smelter plan. After hours standby duties. |
RequirementsRequirementsQUALIFICATIONS NQF Level 6 Instrumentation and Electrical qualification. Government Certificate of Competency (Factories) will be advantageous. Computer literacy. Valid drivers license code 08 is essential. Medically fit and be in a position to obtain Red Ticket. EXPERIENCE Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employee Relations and Business Communication. 5 years post qualification experience and/or at least three years in a Pyro-metallurgical environment. Previous hands-on PLC programming experience. |
