Job description / Role
He will assist the Engineering Manager on the project management consultant role for the project and Design review of the installation, testing and commissioning of MEP and coordination with Railway systems, with a particular focus on Electrical, mechanical and air-conditioning systems.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the E&M Engineer(design) will assist the on the PMC role, including:
Progress reporting and project monitoring on the D&B Contractor MEP construction activities;
Review of design submission on Electrical aspects like HV/ LV and MEP systems(fire detection, firefighting, PSD and power supply) and carry out progressive assurance;
Liaising with design consultants on any design changes and making sure these are incorporated with the consultants drawings.
Assisting for change control management, configuration management, cost management, system assurance and interface management;
Also provide technical support to the PMC Engineering team.
Requirements
Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with good experience in the organization and design review of the Electrical mechanical systems before the installation, testing and commissioning of MEP in the underground Metro Rail Transit projects under construction, and specifically in ventilation and air-conditioning, and familiar with all the necessary interfaces with other MEP and railway systems.
Holder of a good mechanical engineering degree from a recognized university
Minimum of 10 years working on design review and construction projects and being involved in design review aspects of a major railway project in the past 5 years
Preferably having experiences in the Middle East.
Good communicator and team player, with fluent conversational and writing competence in English.
Understanding of design and build FIDIC contract and good experiences working with contractors.
Although not a requirement, the candidate is expected to be either professionally qualified or working towards his professional qualification.
