Job description / Role
STR Global working with an International E & I Main Contractor with a successful track record in the Oil & Gas, Energy and Chemical sectors is recruiting for an Electrical Proposals Engineer to be based in their Tender Department in Qatar.
Principal Accountabilities:
The Electrical Proposals Engineer is responsible for:
• Coordinating with engineering departments with regards to commercial and technical aspects of the enquiry and tender documents
Involvement in the preparation of proposals for Electrical related work
• In-charge of delivering Electrical project proposals on time while reducing commercial risk and maintaining the highest standard of service to clients
• Reporting directly into the Proposal/Commercial Manager
Requirements
Education/Experience:
• Bachelors / College Degree in Instrumentation Engineering
• 10 years overall work experience with at least 5 years in Proposals
• Excellent communication skills with a high proficiency in written and spoken English
• MS Office Package (Word, Excel, Power Point), Windows Op System
Competencies / Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of estimation, procurement, fabrication and construction processes.
• Ability to review and understand new enquiries and complex tender documents
• Ability to check all tender submissions for accuracy with client requirements
• Sound experience in reviewing & preparing Instrument technical proposals.
• Thorough knowledge of Controls Systems such as APC, DCS, and PLC based systems.
• Thorough knowledge of Industrial Instruments and International standards.
• Ability to review and prepare the Specification / Data sheets of proposed Control Systems, Instrumentation materials (tubing, fittings, cables), equipment and field instrument for vendor quotations.
• Ability to prepare instrument list for BM/BQ and I/O list for system vendors.
• Competent in checking, reviewing, estimating and summarizing base costs.
