Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

JOB PURPOSE:
To apply electrical engineering knowledge with available skills to operate, maintain, modify developmental or operational electrical equipments, control system/ circuitry as per the advice of electrical engineer/ Section Manager in order to sustain operations efficiently without loss of production and in safe manner to ensure meeting the company business plan.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Follows all relevant section policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
- Follows the day-to-day operations related to own jobs to ensure continuity of work

General:
*Conducts preventive /corrective maintenance as per schedule and as assigned by Engineer to adhere to the scheduled requirements.
*Participates in breakdown maintenance on call basis to ensure timely submission to sustain operations.
*Participates in modifications, revamping, trouble shooting to timely complete the task for increased reliability.
*Ensures communications to all supervisory levels the status and requested data in timely manner to take suitable remedial measures during operations.

Technical assistance:
*Provides technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after operation HOURS.
*Performs a variety of skilled tasks in the preventative / corrective maintenance, repair, installation, and calibration of electrical, electronic protection relays, telephone, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems; radio, HVACs, PA systems ,metering equipments and other such systems.
*Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electrical HV/LV equipments /STG set and control systems to assist in the monitoring and control of plant and sub-station processes; assists in the development, construction, and installation of new electrical systems and maintenance, repair or replacement of electrical equipment; maintain electrical transformers, generators, SCADA systems, and medium voltage (480-600 volts) distribution and control systems.
*Arranges spares/material from stores to work location to expedite completion of assigned task.
*Sets up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.
*Collaborates with electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.

Continuous Improvement:
- Develops by acquiring various skills required & recommend innovative systems / procedures that contributes to improve the reliability, availability and integrity of the plants electrical equipments/stream.

Reporting:
* Prepares list for purchases of parts and supplies; maintain accurate records; trouble shooting manual/ information needed by department management; operate computer equipment and software; develop field sketches/single line diagrams and update record drawings of electrical systems. Prepare technical data to report as required; perform related assignments as necessary.
* Prepares daily energy consumption reports and submits it to Section Manager for review and onward transmittal to production department.
* Prepares check lists, Log Books, history books, energy readings & other such monitoring reports required from time to time to timely attending the problems so noticed.

Safety, Health & Environment:
* Complies with Company Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE-MS) and also promote awareness of its use among others.
* Ensures availability of Good & safe to use proper tools, spares, consumables and correct use of various types of electrical equipments and PPE as specified in daily PTW & Method statements.

Related Assignments:
* Performs other related duties or assignments as directed by Section Manager/Line managers

Requirements

- Academic and professional qualifications: Diploma in Electrical Engineering / High School graduate / ITI
- Experience: 4 - 6 years
