Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The ideal candidate will supervise and manage the installation of integrated security systems such as
access control, alarm and camera systems. The work responsibilities will be carried out under a variety
of conditions in various locations and occasionally with little supervision.
Performs site supervision for all service/installation of access control, intrusion alarm, closed
circuit television systems, and other various security related systems.
Extensive knowledge in cabling, fiber optics, electronic security installation
Extensive knowledge in site and equipment testing and commissioning
Evaluates diagnoses, troubleshoots systems and perform recommendation as necessary.
Assists in the development of training programs for employees.
Recommends upgrades and additions to systems in order to increase functionality and usability.
Performs computer program entry as required to add closed circuit television cameras, access control devices, and intrusion alarm systems as needed.
Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing necessary information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with health and safety regulations.
Prepares documentation in a variety of written and electronic formats (e.g. daily paperwork/log, time and materials, key and material records, key inventory, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support in compliance with regulations and/or conveying information.
Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring
availability of required items.
Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety/security concerns.
Assists other trades personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities (i.e. coordination with electricians, locksmith, carpenters).
Attends meetings, workshops, training, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
Responsible for the overall site management within the assigned scope of work
Interact with client and installation team to discuss design details and changes
Manage contractor scope of work and Project contractor deliverables
Ongoing support of security projects and sub-contractors

Requirements

Minimum of ten (7) years work experience in the electronic security industry.
Minimum of seven (5) years work experience as a site installation manager for electronic security projects.
Minimum of three (3) years work experience as Project Supervisor on projects exceeding $5 million USD.
Maintaining confidentiality of work related information and materials.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
Effective organization and planning skills.
Maintain an established work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner.
Ability to understand and follow instructions precisely.
Ability to read blueprints, architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to use test equipment such as multi-meter, signal tone generator, oscilloscope, timedomain
reflectometer.

Electrical or Security Certification(s)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat and Primavera.
Demonstrated capability to read computer aided design using AutoCAD.
Demonstrated capability to clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders
Demonstrated capability to track and report on design milestones in a timely and concise manner.
Demonstrated capability to interpret project documentation to co-workers
Excellent communications and problem solving skills
Must have own transportation
Read, write and speak English
