Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Using foundations of theoretical knowledge and evidence based guidelines and apply these to a range of activities to achieve agreed patient care outcome
• Critically appraising care practices and appropriately implement quality improvement strategies
• Monitor and document processes and outcome of care
• Participating in patient client safety and risk minimizing activities
• A recognised triage system is maintained
• Professional ethics are maintained
• Ambulance services policies and procedures are adhered to
• Medical equipment is kept in good working order and discrepancies are reported to Senior EMT
• Rapid and effective emergency care ensured
• Clinical notes are written legibly and according to procedure
• Respond to ambulance calls
• Perform pre-hospitalization assessments, initial treatment protocols in accordance to local regulatory guidelines
• Safe and timely transport of patients
• Reassuring patients and bystanders by working in a confident, efficient manner
• Avoiding mishandling and undue haste while working expeditiously to accomplish the task

Requirements

• Achieved the requirements to be accredited by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) of Ireland as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or an equivalent approved by Dubai Corporation of Ambulance Services (DCAS)
• Appropriate qualification – BSc. Emergency Care & Trauma Care
• Minimum 2 years experience as Emergency Medical Technician
• Have the competencies to perform all skills including medications, as defined in the PHECC Medication and Skills Matrix as modified and approved by DCAS to meet local requirements
• Hold current license and/or qualification as Emergency Medical Technician or equivalent
• Proficiency in English Language
• Knowledge of all aspects of rendering emergency medical care at an Intermediate Life Support Level
• Working knowledge of all aspects of pre-hospital emergency medical interventions
• Knowledgeable about federal / local ambulance regulatory requirements
• Previous work experience in Dubai Police Ambulance Service is an added advantage
• Initiative to learn new skills and tasks as they apply to the support of the ambulance service and the medical treatment facilities of Mediclinic Middle East
