Employment: Full Time

MISSION:
The mission is in support of F-16 Base Operations Support/Base Life Support/ Security (BBS services) to provide effective and efficient F-16 BBS services to the Iraqi F-16 mission at Balad Air Base as part of a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case to the Government of Iraq.

SCOPE:
Emergency Nurses treat patients in emergency situations where they’re experiencing trauma or injury. These nurses quickly recognize life-threatening problems and are trained to help solve them on the spot. They can work in hospital emergency rooms, ambulances, helicopters, urgent care centers, sports arenas, and more. As an Emergency Nurse, you’ll treat a variety of conditions from sore throats to heart attacks for patients of all ages and backgrounds.
Emergency room (ER) nurses work in critical care emergency facilities to assist doctors and work with emergency medical technicians in helping people in pain and possibly life-threatening trauma.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associates of Science in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board or International Equivalent.
• Hold and Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Minimum of one (1) year Emergency Room (ER) Nurses experience
• ER Nurses work as part of a team with physicians, other nurses and healthcare professionals to provide care, monitor health conditions, plan long-term care needs, administer medicine, use medical equipment, perform minor medical operations, and advise patients and their families on illness, care and continued care after a hospital stay.
• Critical-Thinking Skills: Nurses will need to assess a patient's health, as well as detect changes in symptoms, health or pain, and will need to know when action is necessary.
• Attention to Detail: Nurses can help doctors operate, administer medicines and work with specific treatments that, if wrong could prove fatal. Attention to detail is crucial.
• All medical personnel must have worked 6 of the last 12 months performing direct patient care in their career field to be considered.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Stabilize patients experiencing trauma
• Minimize pain
• Quickly uncover medical conditions
• Teach patients about injury prevention
• Collects current symptoms, as well as a detailed patient history and then consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes patients until the attending physician is available, based upon nursing standards and protocol
• Works directly under physicians, assisting them during exams, diagnostic testing and treatments
• Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications.
• Maintains proper supplies and appropriate medical equipment to care for patients
• Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician. Teaches patients and significant others how to
• manage their illness/injury, by explaining: post-treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise
• programs, self-administration of medication and rehabilitation, as well as provides referrals to other
• healthcare professionals for follow-up treatment

Requirements

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have a current Passport
• Must sign an offer letter.
• Requires a corporate background check, and a favorably adjudicated investigation if required by contract.
• Work hours are based on 60 per week.
• Ability to speak, write and communicate in English is highly desirable.
• Will have a valid, current country of origin or International Driver’s license.
• Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
• Shall demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic word processing programs and the CHS Medical Management System software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be “medically and dentally fit” in accordance with CHS requirements for service in Iraq.
• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
• The climate is desert-like, hot, and prone to dust storms.
