Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The job is responsible for all employee relations transaction documentations and recording.

The job functions in place of the specialist in many employee relations activities and transactions whenever necessary.

Main responsibilities:
- Documentation of all employee relations related transactions
- Taking down minutes of meetings during arbitrations and union meetings to be used in many transactions with Ministry of Manpower
- Preparing reports and records of all employee relations transactions, disciplinary actions, notice to explain, investigations and the like
- Ensuring that all documents and records are transcribed in both English and Arabic
- Preparing monthly section reports on all transactions, cases, decisions and the like
- Drafting collective bargaining agreements and monitors its enactment
- Collating documents for cases filed to the Ministry of Manpower
- Safekeeping records, instructions, information and circulars from the Ministry of Manpower and Department of Labor
- Drafting policies, instructions, process maps and circulars on matters pertaining to employee relations
- Keeping a record of exit interviews and prepares analysis and reports about it
- Attends to all employee relations activities of the company
- Attends internal and external hearings, arbitrations and disciplinary meetings, union meetings and investigations
- Leading developmental employee programs and conducting various group activities, education campaigns, roadshows, etc. on matters related to employee relations.
- Providing advice and guidance to all leaders in dealing with employee relations cases and handling discipline issues
- Attends to employee grievance and finds means for their resolution
- Sits in the negotiating panel as one of the management representatives in collective bargaining
- Represents the company in meetings with Ministry of Manpower and similar external activities
- Partners with the Legal Department in interpreting the Labor Law and advising the management on policies, instructions and remedies to cases
- Recommends appropriate actions during strikes, lockouts, mergers, redundancy, downsizing, etc. and executes them upon Management approval

Requirements

- Bachelors Degree in Law LLB., Government Service or Human Resources with at least 6 years of relevant working experience. If field of study is not LLB, incumbent needs to have courses in labor law, grievance handling, labor arbitration and union engagement.
- At least 5 year experience in employee relations is a must (handling labor arbitrations, collective bargaining, grievance and documenting labor cases).
- Extensive knowledge of Omani labor law and in many government policies and instructions related to employment and welfare.
- Excellent spoken and written skills in both English and Arabic.
- Excellent communication skills in terms of negotiation, influencing and convincing.
- Has maintained alliance and network with various government and civic organizations.
