Energy and Carbon Specialist - Qatar Airways - Doha

The purpose of the role is to support the implementation of Qatar Airways (QR) Group-wide climate change strategy and delivery plan.

The role exists to measure, forecast and monitor greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the direct and indirect activities business unit (including airline, airport and subsidiary companies) and to evaluate the effectiveness of plans to reduce emissions to an optimal level.

As Energy and Carbon Specialist, you will collate, analyse and verify greenhouse gas emissions data, prepare analytical reports for internal and external stakeholders and review climate change impacts relating to technological developments and government policy.

Key aspects of the role include responding to requests for greenhouse gas emission data from internal and stakeholders, supporting the development of greenhouse gas related case study material, and preparing greenhouse gas performance management reports.

You will be accountable for preparing QRs annual carbon footprint and submission to the EU Emissions Trading Scheme.

Requirements

You must have a Bachelor Degree or equivalent, preferably in environmental subject, along with a minimum of 5 years of job related experience.

Experience in the calculation of CO2 emissions is a must. The ability to demonstrate an understanding of the practical application of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol is an asset.

We are looking for a proactive, dynamic and passionate individual with excellent commercial and communication skills that is focused on results and works well under pressure. You must have a strong project management and stakeholder management skills. You need to have an ability to set clear direction and manage workflow along with the ability to interpret and scrutinise the integrity of technical data.
