Kentz currently has a requirement for an Engineer - Design Quality Assurance, based in our Doha Office.

Responsibilities:

Supporting the continuous implementation and improvement of the Company Engineering Quality systems and procedures for multidisciplinary Engineering Design.
Actively support the implementation and maintenance of Kentz Integrated Management system (IMS) requirements, comprising Quality, Health, Safety and Environment which comply with all the elements of ISO9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards in the context of Engineering and Design.
Assist in establishing robust and non-redundant Project Engineering Quality management system, in compliance with the Client engineering quality requirements, Kentz IMS requirements and insure effective implementation on the project/s being assigned for.
Support Engineering Quality Assurance sub-function to ensure core project management processes are rigorously implemented across all phases of engineering project/s, that he / she is being assigned for. i.e. Engineering Risk Management & associated Action Tracking, Management of Engineering/Design Change, Technical Query management and Engineering Lessons learned etc.,
Guide the Project Engineering team for establishing appropriate levels of design verification controls and monitor the same for compliance.
Manage and/or coordinate project specific design verification programs, in terms of competency assurance for design verification, facilitating establishment of appropriate project specific Eng. Discipline and inter-disciplinary verification requirements and monitoring and controlling the changes to the design verification requirements.
Ensure project complies with the design and engineering quality assurance requirements, by ensuring that internal design reviews are pre-determined and scheduled during the appropriate stage of engineering and also ensure that all design review action points are closed out, prior to completion of the relevant stage of engineering design.
Perform Engineering and design quality audits as per established schedule.
Participate and contribute during TBE and review of submissions made by vendor and engineering & design subcontractor, for Engineering quality specific requirements as and when required.
Ensure establishment and monitoring of project specific engineering quality objectives in conjunction with the Project Engineering manager, by ensuring the same is aligned with the overall Project Quality objectives and Engineering Functional objectives.
Assist with and ensure application of appropriate configuration control, verification and validation of engineering software used on the assigned projects.
Facilitate project specific Design Criticality Assessment review and ensure established design criticality is assigned by the engineering disciplines on the equipment and its associated components for the project scope of work.
Support the Project Engineering Managers with all the Engineering and Design Quality assurance activities, as well as with the weekly and monthly Quality reports on the projects.
Ensure monitoring and reporting on the status of project Quality Index pertaining to Engineering and Design, in compliance with the Kentz IMS requirements.
Support Proposals Engineering team to comply with the established engineering quality requirements as required.
Contribute in preparation of engineering quality deliverables as part of engineering proposals and also provide inputs after due review on the vendor and subcontractor quality requirements (such as RFQ) for the engineering proposals as and when required.
Proactively support Engineering Quality Assurance sub-function and contribute in implementing continual improvement initiatives, pertaining to Engineering and Design Quality assurance.
Assist with and support the maintenance of quality related work instructions.Assist with and support internal audits of the projects and of the department, the analysis of the results and the preparation of audit reports.Identify non-conformances when necessary.
Assist with and support the maintenance of the NCN, IN and RC register.
Assist with and support in obtaining feedback from Engineering function's internal and external clients.
Assist with and support the maintenance of the audit findings analysis matrix and reporting.
Follow up on project non-conformances and corrective actions.
Maintain preventative/continual action plan registers on the assigned projects.
Assist with and support the conduct of Project IMS management review in compliance with the approved schedule.
Assist with assessment and audit of subcontracted Engineering & design activities as and when required.
Assist with and support the implementation of vendor Engineering audits as and when required.Assist with and support the preparation of the monthly consolidated QA reports.
Assist with and support the training of new personnel in the Engineering department on the applicable QMS requirements.Identify training needs and feed back to management.

Requirements

Education and Skills
•Excellent English language skills, both spoken and written
•Degree in an Engineering discipline.
•Certified Internal Auditor for ISO 9001: 2008
•Highly self-motivated.
•Complete computer literacy - must have an excellent working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word and be able to produce reports etc in a given agreed structured and presentable format.
•Thorough knowledge of ISO9001:2008 requirements and its application in an Engineering and Design environment
•Have reasonable experience and understanding of Engineering and Design phases of the project such as Feasibility/Concept study, FEED and Detailed Design & Engineering and associated Engineering Quality requirements
•Have reasonable experience and understanding of ""Engineering Contracting"" and associated project delivery model, and have the personal attributes to lead and influence performance improvement across all aspects of Project Engineering and Design activities
•Awareness and experience in implementing continual improvement initiatives, pertaining to Engineering and Design Quality assurance (Such as Design Error tracking and monitoring)
•Auditing experience in Engineering and Design phases of the project
•Sound appreciation and understanding of the quality implications regarding the Engineering & design interfaces and dependencies between the various Engineering disciplines, such as process, mechanical & piping, civil & structural, instrumentation & controls and telecommunications. Sound understanding of common international codes and standards.
