Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

PURPOSE:

To undertake services within an engineering environment which may include (but not limited to); scheme investigation, site inspections/walk over surveys, data collection and analysis, conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs, design reports, calculations including hydrology and hydraulic modelling, technical/construction specifications & BoQs and development of tender & construction documents/packages.

The Engineer will be involved on drainage and Multi-Disciplinary infrastructure projects under the direction of the Project Manager and responsible for design of some (or all) of the following:
• Storm water drainage design.
• Flood risk assessment & analysis.
• Rainfall analysis and simulations.
• General infrastructure.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Ensure projects undertaken in line with Mouchel policy on all SHEQ matters.
• Efficient delivery of drainage and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Undertake continuous improvement and personal development, maintaining a detailed CPD register.
• Delivery of high quality design, demonstrating continuous improvement, to the measurable satisfaction of clients.
• Assist with value management, innovation and efficiency across the Water team within the Design Centre.
• Profitable completion of projects by completing assigned tasks within specified and agreed timescales.
• Assist with bidding activity as and when required.
• Work may require travel within GCC.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

A degree in a relevant discipline e.g. Civil Engineering.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 7 years experience in the storm water drainage designs.
• Sound have a good knowledge and understanding of water engineering design standards, codes of practices, manuals and the application of hydrology & hydraulics in developing viable engineering design solutions.
• Proven track record in the delivery of generally water & particularly drainage engineering and multi-disciplinary design projects from a design perspective
• Middle East experience is desirable.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Good presentation, verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative on technical matters.
• Understanding of different drainage design standards, codes/manuals and ASHTO etc.
• Experience of hydrological & hydraulic modelling software’s essential eg StormCad, MicroDrainage, Watershed Modelling System (WMS), HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, FlowMaster, CulverMaster, etc.
• Experience of AutoCAD essential.
• Experience of Civil 3D essential.
• Experience of MS Office essential.
• Experience of InfoWork desirable.
• Geographical Information System (GIS) desirable.
