Charterhouse is working with an engineering company based in Dubai. Our client is looking to hire an Engineering Manager to join the growing team on a permanent staff basis.

This role will report to the Engineering Director and in turn the Group MD. Your initial responsibilities will be to head up technical operations and liaise with the technical teams in Europe. Over the following months you will vet and hire a multi-discipline team of Engineers to enable the Dubai office to become a fully independent engineering centre. This team will involve Mechanical, EC&I, Process and CAD Design Engineers that you will manage and in time expand.

Day to day activities will consist of coordinating with Sales, R & D, and Post Order Operations personnel to resolve problems relative to product design, conformance to specifications and product function. You will also lead the creation, implementation, direction and maintenance of best practices related to engineering. The equipment you will design will be water process or oil water separating packaged equipment for the Oil and Gas industry.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have a Degree in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering. You should also have a minimum of 10 years' PQE in the Oil & Gas industry of which at least four should be in a Lead or Managerial position.

Additionally, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of engineering standards, ANSI/ASME Code, API Code, NEC and WPS and be able to read and interpret complex fabrication drawings and technical specifications. A high level of written and spoken English is essential for this role whilst Arabic would be advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer with man management experience from a Mechanical or Process Division who is looking to gain exposure to a multi-discipline engineering department.
