Enterprise Strategic Marketing Expert
A Leading Telecoms Company in the Arabian Gulf
Initially develop and then own on an on-going basis Enterprise’s strategy in key growth areas such as IP Telephony and Unified Communications, M2M (Machine to Machine), Cloud Computing and Brand/Marketing Communications. Provide support to the Strategic Marketing Director on any additional ad hoc projects when required and the wider team with the annual Marketing Plan development.
-Define the overall approach and make strategic recommendations on agreed topics to include IPT, M2M, Cloud Computing and Brand/Marketing Communications as well as other areas to be defined. Analysis to incorporate competitor research, best practice benchmarking, market sizing, value chain analysis, capability assessment, business case, service model and go to market approach
-Undertake market research on agreed topics. Develop relationships with external organizations (e.g. research companies and management consultants) to assist with data inputs, if required
-Engage with relevant internal stakeholders to gain access to data, feedback and buy in for recommendations
-Communicate findings and recommendations to key internal stakeholders within Marketing and other departments in Enterprise and at Corporate level
-Regularly monitor customer needs, technology trends and competitor activities in the defined areas and disseminate viewpoints to team and wider stakeholders
-Analyze potential partnership proposals from external providers and make recommendations as to the most suitable candidate/s
-Support the development of the annual Marketing Plan with analysis and research as required
-Undertake additional ad hoc work as defined by the Strategic Marketing Director
-Provide coaching to other staff within the Strategic Marketing department on subjects such as research techniques, benchmarking, market/company analysis, business modeling etc.
-External research companies (e.g. IDC, Ovum, Nielsen etc.)
•Access “off the shelf” or commission bespoke market research
-External consultancy companies (e.g. Booz & Co etc.)

•Engage with all departments to gain insight and feedback on proposed strategic recommendations e.g. Pricing, Service Management
-Other Departments (Sales, Customer Care, Finance, Group Strategy)
•Engage with departments to ensure alignment, gain insight/data and communicate findings
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
-Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business or related field required, MBA preferred
-8-10 years of experience in either a telecom or an ICT marketing environment within a leading player
-Good knowledge of ICT market, customers and competitors, within the MENA region is desirable
-Good analytical and quantitative skills - ability to conceptualize new ideas and strategies etc.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English, working knowledge of Arabic would be advantageous
-Results oriented; demonstrated success in overcoming obstacles in the past
-Self-starter; able to seize opportunities with minimal direction provided
-Experience in managing complex projects from end to end, comfortable dealing with a high degree of uncertainty
-Ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders across the company and externally
-Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint)
