The RoleThe RoleAn excellent opportunity for an Environmental & Sustainability Officer for one of the global FMCG firms-specializing in manufacturing of food products. Excellent tax free salary plus family status. The purpose of this job is to continuously improve the environmental and sustainability aspects of the Dubai manufacturing facility. The role requires a sound understanding of environmental and waste law, associated regulations and a good understanding of plant, machinery and processes within the factory, labs and offices, and the subsequent wide variety of work . Key Accountabilities Development and implementation of the environmental and sustainability program in the site on a yearly basis, thereby to deliver the targets for energy, water and waste. Pro-active waste reduction programme by applying Lean concept that drives and supports continuous improvement in line with ISO 14001. Reduce direct fossil fuel energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in the site. Carry out internal environment audit program, ensures tracking of all non-conformities, identifying root causes and implementation of corrective actions, updates inspection spreadsheet and sends out report. Develop & maintain contact with the global, local environmental & sustainability teams to capture the new technologies and sustainability initiatives. Accountable for providing water, electricity, diesel, air, exhaust and dust monitoring procedures that benchmark the impact as well as optimize the usage & emission. Optimize & manage the solid & semi solid disposals as well as the waste management in the site. |
RequirementsRequirementsThe ideal candidate would come from manufacturing industry-food, non food, steel , petrochemicals. Minimum of 3 years working experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment with environmental management experience. Previous experience in IS0 14001 environmental management system will be an added advantage. |
