Allen & York are looking to recruit an Environmental Consultant - Site to work for our client a multinational design and engineering consultancy. The company has been in operation for over 150 years, working on some of the world's most iconic landmarks and infrastructure including the Burj Khalifa, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Tower Bridge in London and the Taiwan High Speed Railway. We are now recruiting talented individuals to fill our current vacancy for a Environmental Consultant - Site to work on our projects in Doha, Qatar.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily site inspections.
- Environmental auditing.
- Development of appropriate Corrective Action Plans arising from both internal and external audit non-conformances.
- Noise monitoring.
- Coordination of soil, water and air quality sampling and analysis.
- Communication with regulatory authorities.
- Preparation of high quality reports for compliance purposes.
- Delivery of appropriate, accurate environmental advice to the project team.
- Championing environmental awareness and driving environmental performance.
- Effective communication of environmental performance and related issues with The company's Doha office.
- Environmental support to other projects, including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), where necessary.
- Fulfil the environmental officer role on sites to ensure compliance with the construction environmental management plans (CEMPs).
- Manage and coordinate any environmental permitting required for the project.
- Contribute to data collection and coordination for multi-themed environmental projects.
- Facilitate site environmental awareness.
- Support other environment team projects as and when required.

Requirements

- Relevant degree (and MSc/second degree - preferred) from an accredited University.
- Membership of an appropriate professional institute or association.
- Demonstrable experience in the provision of environmental services.
- 6 to 8 years experience as an Environmental Site Auditor, including some experience working in an international consultancy.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills together with interpersonal skills and ability to develop key relationships.
- Expertise in preparing literate, high quality reports with appropriate IT skills.
- Competent at Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Project, etc.
- Experience in the collection, management and analysis of environmental data.
- Project management experience.

The following is desirable:
- Ability to speak and write Arabic would be an advantage.
- Those with ISO 14001 Trained Lead Auditor Training would be looked favourably on.
- A detailed understanding of the environmental regulatory environment in Doha.
- Strong preference for those with work experience in the Gulf Region.
- A technical skill in air quality, noise, water quality, geology, hydrogeology or ecology would be advantageous.
- Sustainability accreditation such as Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS).
- Culturally sensitive with experience in operating in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to maintain a pro-active and organised approach.
- Excellent attention to detail coupled with the ability to focus on the wider objectives.
- A strong team player driven by personal drive and ambition.
