Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

A Saudi based environmental consultancy requires an experienced Laboratory Manager for high profile project on a long term government contract. Work is conducted in English.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the environmental lab, consisting of the analysis of seawater, wastewater, groundwater, potable water, and soil samples.
 
Duties will include:

Reporting and data interpretation activities
Quality control and advising on lab analyses
Training and developing other staff
Ordering of equipment and consumables.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

An MSc degree in Analytical Chemistry from a Western University
Previous experience in an environmental/public health lab
Experience of using most of the following techniques: ICP, GC/MS,
Ion-chromatography, TOC, UV/VIS.
Familiarity with US EPA analytical and QA/QC procedures and AWWA standard methods for water and wastewater analysis would be a distinct advantage.
A working knowledge of basic microbiology.
Good Microsoft Office abilities, especially MS Access.
 
In addition to a tax free salary equivalent to GBP 40,000 you will receive an ex-pat package inclusive of accommodation, company car and medical cover.
