Job description / Role
Duties:
To implement, maintain and monitor compliance with the CEMP-C and all environmental compliance procedures, and be based full-time on site.
To be responsible and directly accountable to the Engineer’s Representative in all matters concerning environmental compliance.
Review and update CEMP-C, ERA, EIA, other manuals, plans ,associated procedures and issue to the client.
Conduct weekly meetings with the Sub-contractor representatives and liaise with them to ensure variations to the scope or timing of the work that may impact upon the environment, workers, and local communities are discussed.
Communicate mitigation measures and monitoring plans to all Sub-contractor representatives through induction and training delivery.
Manage environmental training delivery, and deliver toolbox talks to staff and Subcontractor Representatives.
Aggregate data from Sub-contractor representatives in terms of waste recycling/disposal, chemicals consumption on site.
Conduct environmental monthly audits at the construction site and site camps.
Incident/accident Investigation and statistical analysis.
Close out all non-conformances.
Incorporate findings of the EIA into Design and Construction.
Develop additional EIA for constructions , required for additional permits.
Responsible for management of environmental Staff.
Requirements
Candidate Requirements:
University degree in environmental engineering or similar.
Good command of English language (Arabic would be an advantage)
At least 8 years of general professional experience; extensive experience in construction environmental management or similar.
Detailed understanding of HS an QM/QS.
Understanding of principles of sustainability
Experience in Gulf Region : At least 5 years of experience as Environmental Project/Environmental Program Manager for environmental auditing, monitoring or planning for projects of similar size, complexity and importance.
Qualified Environmental Auditor or similar would be a definite advantage.
Experience in rail construction/ rail projects or comparable infrastructure construction projects is a must.
