JOB DESCRIPTION
Our company is a rapidly-growing business that provides environmental protection, risk engineering, disaster management and oil spill response services to the oil and gas industry. We are seeking a Mid-level Environmental Specialist to lead and support environmental protection projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting and managing projects contracted by public and private agencies and will perform the following functions:
• Conduct and assist with field investigation activities
• Perform and/or supervise environmental analytical work and write technical reports
• Perform environmental impact assessments and audits
• Competent at writing policies, procedures and standards
• Development of processes for conducting analytical work
• Review of local legislation and provide advice on improving legislation
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, scopes of work, and schedules for projects and proposals
• Assist in the development and review of progress reports, and project deliverables
• Monitor and conform to budget, schedule, and performance goals
• Ensure technical quality and safety in all aspects of job performance
This is a critical position that reports to the line Manager and includes working collaboratively with other team members. The successful candidate will interface directly with clients, team members, and subcontractors. A high-degree of professionalism and competence in technical tasks and project delivery with a moderate to minimal amount of supervisions is essential for success. Project-related travel will be required.
Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• BS / BA in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s Degree Desired)
• 3+ years of technical and project management experience directly related to preparing and managing environmental risks
• Interface with clients and assess their requirements
• Develop solutions to control environmental risks
• 3+ years of experience working with relevant federal and state regulations and guidance
• 3+ years of experience working with environmental management systems and MS office Suite
• Knowledge of federal and state environmental services market, cost estimating, environmental assessments, permitting and field investigation protocols
• Must be fluent in English with strong writing, reading and speaking skills.
• Site visits to clients premises, which may require overseas travel and surveys of off shore and on shore production and refining facilities.
• Ability to work along- side field technicians for the purpose of collecting test samples
• Ability to travel on board helicopters and water craft to off shore platforms and other marine installations.
