Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

* Prepare full estimates and entire pre-construction deliverable consistent with the overall project schedule and level of detail provided including value engineering, alternative and comparative studies.
* Perform the task of all the related functions of the department in an a uniform manner.

* Following and maintaining professional standards as per Detailed Tendering and Estimating Procedure for PAS 999 Audit via Integrated Management System
* Studying all Tender documents including Instruction to Tenderers, Contract Conditions, BOQ, Specifications and Tender Drawings, Site Visit Reports.
* Preparing the Rate Analysis as derived by first Principles using CCS (Construction Computer Software) / Excel, including the related Nominated Subcontractors, Provisional sums, Prime cost items if any.
* Studying and preparing Pre-Tender correspondences with Clients, Consultants & raising tender queries to avoid any discrepancies
* Studying Quotations, preparing comparative statements, negotiate with the subcontractors/ suppliers to obtain competitive and prepare a detailed report for Senior Estimators review.
* Value Engineering Analysis / proposing alternatives which are cost effective in terms of value & time.
* Preparing the detailed report of required resources for the direct cost of Labour, Plant & Material for each activity as instructed by the Senior Estimator.
* All other departmental activities as instructed by the superiors
* Prepare Concept budget from concept drawings.

Requirements

- University Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Other certifications obtained: RICS, CIOB, PMP.
- Specialist knowledge: Minimum Six (6) years of experience in construction industry of which at least Three (3) years should have functioned in same role in construction industry in GCC.
- Experience in the use of computer based quantification and knowledge in using systems such as CCS - Candy.
- Strong leadership skills, a team developer with motivational skills.
- Knowledge in using Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Power point, outlook express etc.)
- An Effective communicator written and verbal and Capable of working independently.
- Experience in the optimal use of AutoCAD for Quantity Takeoff.
