Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

As a quantity surveyor/estimator you will manage all costs relating to building, from the initial calculations to the final figures. You will seek to minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

You will be involved in a project from the start, preparing estimates and costs of the work. When the project is in progress, you will keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability.

• Responsible for estimation process;
• Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents;
• Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents;
• Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements;
• Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information;
• Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends;
• Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data;
• Understanding drawings and joinery technical issues;
• Visiting sites to gather information needed;
• Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities ? Performing cost control;
• Allocating work to subcontractors;
• Coordinating with Sales and Production departments to ensure smooth completion of projects;
• Advising on procurement strategy;
• Preparing and analyzing costing for tenders or requests.

Requirements

• Candidates must have a Civil Engineering Degree or Diploma (not mandatory if having enough experience);
• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Estimation, Budgeting and BOQ or quotation preparation in both joinery and exhibition stand building company;
• A sound knowledge of the local interior markets and materials is essential.
