Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Responsibilities:
Prepares material takeoffs on complex projects, drawings, and plans. Reviews takeoffs provided by the Engineering Department and checks for mathematical and technical accuracy. Prepares detailed breakdown of components and elements of estimates for systems and subsystems.
Reviews contractual documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work and scope changes.
Prepares and summarizes task and subtask estimates, including rate and unit cost determination and performing mathematical calculations by applying standard factors.
Prepares, compares, and analyzes, Bills of Quantity.
Assigns material costs and staffing costs to the takeoffs. Obtains telephone quotes for materials and services.
Accumulates, evaluates, and documents historical cost data and construction procedures and methods in order to maintain current estimating standards and databases.
Provides training and guidance to assigned personnel in the preparation, revision, and production of cost estimates.
Participates in client presentations as required.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position, as may be appropriate.

Requirements

Qualifications:
8 years overall experience,5 years as an Estimator (Estimator position, or progressive experience in similar positions)
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, preferred.
Skills and proven ability to perform all appropriate estimating/QS functions.
English is mandatory, knowledge of Arabic will be an advantage
Proficient keyboard skills and a working knowledge of MS Windows and related word processing, spreadsheet, and database software are required.
Assignments will require a working knowledge of construction sequences and standard work procedures of the industry.
Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management.
Ability to meet eligibility for Saudi VISA requirements
Previous experience working in Saudi will be an advantage
