The Orpic Code of Business Conduct (CoBC) is an overarching set of guidelines which details the legal and ethical obligations and expectations of all staff at all levels to act in accordance with the expressed standards of conduct, integrity and accountability.

Reporting to the Chief of Internal Audit, the key purpose of the Ethics Officer role is to align the practices of the company with the stated ethics and beliefs as per the CoBC and assisting and supporting management, staff and outside partners so they effectively discharge their responsibilities and held accountable to the established ethical standards.

The role is also responsible for managing the day-to-day whistleblowing and investigation activities, being a trusted person for employees and others to raise ethical concerns/dilemmas in heading the Whistleblowing Committee and Secretary of the Code of Business Conduct Committee.

Closely working with HR Services and Legal senior management, liaising with CoBC Committee members and reporting to Chief of Internal Audit, this role is in its nature independent with no staff under supervision.

FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:
- The Ethics Officer steers the Whistleblowing Committee
- The jobholder works under the guidance of and is the Secretary to the CoBC Committee
- The Ethics Officer shall have a strong working relationship with senior management in HR and Legal on the management of CoBC
- The jobholder shall engage and communicate with senior management in the promotion and enforcement of CoBC.
- Key decisions are referred to CoBC Committee members and - where required - other senior management for approval before implementation.

- Internal: All Orpic Departments/Functions; Audit Committee
- External: State Audit Institute; service providers

Requirements

- University degree required
- 10 years experience in the field of business ethics programmes
- Experience in whistleblowing and fraud investigations-
- Shows highly ethical conduct
- Promotes and applies business ethics and applies a thorough understanding of business ethics to the organization
- Maintains expertise of the business environment
- Communicates with impact, both verbal and written
