Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Event Planning

•Design a portfolio of events that is of value to them
•Develop an events plan, research and university collaboration plans
•Research, identify and approach special guests, such as expert speakers, panel members, facilitators and thought leaders
•Design and write agenda summaries and session outlines so that they clearly articulate the key issues and desired outcomes
•Lead (or assist in leading) the facilitation of an event to achieve the desired outcome
•Prepare speakers

Event Execution

•Manage the organisation of an event in its entirety, beforehand and on-site
•Ensure that partner companies, target companies and strategic partners are invited and engaged in all relevant events – follow up on all invitations
•Work with the Programme Assistant to ensure that all administrative and logistics tasks are carried out effectively
•Assist the Executive Director in gaining sponsorship for events, and help manage and fulfil sponsor expectations
•Prepare all required documents such as marketing materials, invitations, speaker profiles, meeting agendas, session outlines, participant lists
•Develop and distribute appropriately all content, such as podcasts, interviews, videos, photographs, etc
•Carry out post-event evaluations
•Implement ideas to improve the event planning and execution process

Requirements

Professional Background and Skills

•A University degree
•Fluency in spoken and written English is a must
•Fluency in spoken and written Arabic is mandatory.
•At least 5 years work experience in event management and execution
•Demonstrated organisational, meeting, and presentation skills

Personal Skills

•Good communication and networking skills (spoken and written)
•Can articulate clearly, logically and credibly with outside constituents, including at the CEO level
•A flexible, supportive and positive team player
•A strong attention to detail in all work outputs
•Can complete simultaneous tasks to deadline in a high pressure environment
