Employment: Full Time

Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City (HBKMC) is currently recruiting for the role of Expeditor to support staff within the Medical City Commissioning team.

The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring purchase orders, coordinating with the receiving section, and communication with Accounts Payable and vendors regarding delivery of supplies and equipment. The expediting function serves a central resource to solve any issues that may arise with processed purchase order. In addition the Expeditor will be required to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

• Communicates with vendors regarding processed purchase orders, anticipated delivery date, notice of late delivery, requested changes to purchase order (item quantity)
• Answers questions from Mat. Mgmt. (MM) And dept. regarding status of processed purchase orders.
• Accurately calculates penalties for late deliveries.
• Provides appropriate documentation to Accounts Payable for timely processing of invoices.
• Notifies end-users of delivery delays.
• Utilizes appropriate manual or electronic systems of information, records and reports for assigned function.
• Logs, files, and maintains source documents in an organized fashion
• Completes work according to MM and HMC policies and procedures.
• Assists in orientation of new staff members, as requested.
• Participates in monthly in service training and staff meeting.
• Participates and attends meetings of various HMC committees as requested
• Provides consistent communication with Asst. Director of Materials Mgmt.
• Maintains HMC and department competencies by attending department meeting, in services, and annual updates.
• Maintains understanding of HMC and Tender policies and other required trainings
• Attends required hospital safety programs, infection control programs and other required trainings.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities, as requested, in a pleasant manner.
• Maintains professional and self-development by participating in educational opportunities that are available.

Requirements

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate at least 5 years’ professional experience (3 years in an administrative role and 2 years in a related position).

• Bachelor's degree
• Fluent in English
• Arabic language skills would be an advantage
• Advanced computer skills
• Demonstrates a through and complete knowledge of healthcare purchasing, receiving and inventory management functions
• Able to work efficiently, independently, and in a team, with minimal direction
• Able to perform competently in a new or emergency situation
• Understands and utilizes information technology on a regular basis.
• Demonstrates ability for problem solving
• Demonstrates professional behavior and treats staff with respect and courtesy
• Demonstrates flexibility and able to handle change productively.

•Currently based in Qatar (hold a valid RP in Qatar (you must be able to get NOC from your current sponsor having completed 1 year in current RP)
