Expressive Arts Therapist

Job description / Role

Naufar Wellness is an innovative facility for integrative wellness and evidence based clinical care in Qatar. Naufar provides high quality clinical services supported by exceptional hospitality. Our objective is to address the health burdens of modern society, including chronic pain, substance use, metabolic syndrome and common mental health disorders, through a progressive and preventative model of care. This model of care is based on motivational engagement and bio-pycho-pharmaco-social interventions.

- To provide high quality expert expressive arts clinical care; planning, designing and facilitating a rehabilitation program.
- To schedule patients leisure and recreational activities providing age and developmentally appropriate therapy groups and establishing behavioural treatment goals.
- To provide therapeutic education, social skills, recreational/leisure, art, music, and activity services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- To flexibly manage a varied caseload of both inpatients and outpatients with complex needs, using evidence based client centred principles.
- Work as part of a team to ensure effective communication and delivery of care.

Requirements

- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant behavioural health field (e.g. recreational therapy, music therapy or dance therapy)

Licensed as an expressive arts therapist in home country, e.g.:
- Recreational Therapist- Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS)
- Music Therapist- Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)
- Art Therapist-Registered Art Therapist (ATR)
- Dance Movement Therapist- Board Certified Dance Movement Therapist (BC- DMT)

- Up-to-date CPD in relevant expressive arts therapy areas
- At least 5 years experience in expressive arts therapy
- Multidisciplinary experience in a range of clinical fields to include mental health, or medical
- Previous experience in specialist area of mental health
- Advanced inpatient and outpatient clinical skills
- Advanced skills in coaching individual or groups in a therapeutic setting
- Advanced skills in anxiety and stress management techniques
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal Skills
