The RoleThe RoleJob Purpose: To provide functional leadership in all technical aspects of the Mechanical Engineering aspects of Building projects and maintenance ie, HVAC, Plumbing and Drainage and Fire fighting systems. To carry out detailed design, review detailed engineering aspects, prepare scopes of work etc. and administer all technical aspects related to Building mechanical engineering discipline in compliance with industry standards and regulations. To provide technical support to Project Engineers and Facilities Maintenance Engineers to ensure that highest engineering standards are maintained in the design and implementation of the mechanical aspects of engineering projects and maintenance. To lead and supervise the work of other professionals who may be assigned to projects under the supervision of this position. |
RequirementsRequirements Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with post-graduate qualifications in Building Services Engineering/Facilities Management or a similar discipline from internationally recognised tertiary institutions. Minimum 15 years mechanical engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years experience in the preparation of HVAC related design calculations for building services using design softwares such as Hevacomp, including attendance at seminars, training and familiarisation for any of these software applications. Profound knowledge in Fire Fighting Systems and Control. Excellent leadership skills and staff development capability and adaptability to work in a multinational, multicultural environment. Excellent inter-personal skills - a good listener and communicator. Extensive experience in dealing with consultants and contractors involved in the building industry. Computer literate with good working knowledge of MS software (Word, Excel & Power Point), enterprise resource software such as SAP and design applications such as AutoCAD and MicroStation. Conversant with relevant international and local code and standards. Attendance at project management related seminar or training course is an added advantage. |
