Salary AED 30000 all inclusive

A leading educational institution looking to hire a Faculty & Research Manager for their Abu Dhabi Operations. The candidate will be responsible for the management of the department of Faculty & Research, Middle East campus, in compliance with the school’s policies and governance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensures an efficient and successful day to day operation whilst maintaining an excellent level of service to the Faculty and Research staff adhering to the goals and objectives
- Faculty Administration
- Plays a key role in the interface between three campuses within the Faculty and Research teams as well as maintains close relations with the other departments (programs and services)
- Responsible for issuance of short term visiting faculty contracts (salaried or service contractors) guaranteeing that the terms of the contracts are communicated to all parties on whose terms their role(denomination, duration, fees/honorarium, advantages, teaching loads) will have impact
- Handling of all queries from professors regarding contractual terms, Faculty policies at first level
- Responsible for processing of fees for visiting faculty/service providers
- Ensure swift and accurate payment of invoices to visiting faculty
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting of faculty salaries; includes visiting faculty in close collaboration with HR Manager
- Manage all faculty related expenses; control, track and verify and approve all expenses and invoices from vendors respecting the Company’s expense reimbursement guidelines
- Responsible for all aspects of faculty recruitment visits
- Responsible for the management of all relocation/move for all faculty relocating on long term or short term contracts, including cross campus travel logistics
- Ensures a smooth relocation and on boarding of faculty and their families including sorting out of all immigration paper work, working closely with the PRO
- Manage house hunting trips logistics, sourcing of temporary accommodation for visiting and resident faculty, opening and closing of email accounts; administer school registration aspect for resident faculty
- Recommends specific orientation programs for faculty.
- Responsible for overall faculty support; includes recruitment, orientation and integration of the Faculty Assistants; Ensure appraisal process for team of faculty assistants is carried out respecting HR guidelines, identify training needs and follow up on training plans
- Ensure adequate and balanced allocation of workload among faculty assistants optimizing pool of resources, adhering to allocation guidelines (stated in the Faculty Handbook) and faculty contract terms
Communication – cross campus and inter departmental
- Ensure cross departmental communication maintaining sound and professional relationships with other departments (programs and services). Organize regular team meetings and individual meetings with team members
- Oversee the operations of the Library in the absence of a Librarian
Ensure that all the research output – whether it is seminars, presentations at conferences, or papers to be published
- Provides local logistical support and coordination for all F&R related visio meetings
- The candidate will be responsible for making key decisions on staff recruitment, performance ratings, salary review – recommendations for bonuses and raises, Within the context of F&R accounts/funds allocation decides on expenses allowable for reimbursement, as when necessary, makes suitable exceptions

Requirements

- Bachelor or equivalent
- Prior work experience in the Middle East is required
- Minimum 3 years mid-level management experience where a degree of autonomy and a high sense of service were required
- Experience working with international teams is an added advantage
- General management skills
- Strong knowledge in social/fiscal/labor/taxation laws
- Fluent in written and spoken English and basic Arabic
- Proficient in MS Office applications and knowledge in web tools applications
