Field Engineer – IT & Networking

Our client, one of the fastest growing public safety and security solutions organisations globally, is looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Field Engineer – IT and Networking to their UAE team. Our employer seeks a proven performer to assist on their main projects in the region, which include the implementation of advanced integrated security solutions for critical assets, safe city and border protection.

Reporting to the In Country Technical Manager, you will install and configure Servers, Workstations, Hardware and Software (Operating Systems and Applications).

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensure the installation and configuration of site IT and Networking system equipment as per the project site deployment plan
• Installation and configuration of communication devices, such as switches, routers, IP telephony
• Ensure that the systems and processes operate effectively, efficiently and safely
• Manage IT and Networking system APT, ATR process and documentation after configuration
• Develop a thorough understanding of the operational processes of the system and assists the Site Manager on technical issues during the Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
• Troubleshooting and problem solving the associated IT and Networking systems as necessary
• Coordinate the implementation of computer software as specified including set-up or command and control
• Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety Plan and company quality standards
• Ensure all work performed by IT and Networking Engineers is thoroughly tested before hand over for Testing and Commissioning

Requirements

Essential attributes include:

• Degree qualified in Computer Science or related field
• MCSE, CCNA or CCIE certifications are required
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with integration and deployment of Bespoke IT systems
• Minimum 3 years work experience within the Middle East
• Proven knowledge in Windows Server 2003 / 2008 / XP within a domain environment; HW configuration (Server/Workstation/Laptop/Network attached devices) in installing and configuring bespoke and security IT systems
• Proven knowledge in networking; switch and router configuration; network analysis and monitoring tools; TCP/IP, IP PIM, IGMP, OSPF, LAN and WAN
• Experienced with video system and command and control applications would be highly regarded
• Previous experience with multivendor integration and system analysis
• Previous experience on project involving Telecommunications, IT, Networks and Security Systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential
• Excellent English verbal, reading and writing skills are essential
