We are currently looking to recruit Field Engineer, with an Instrumentation background. The position will be working on 28/28 rotation on site in Iraq. The successful candidate will provide dedicated technical support to the resident client team.

Responsibilities
• The project is in the EPC phase of large oilfield in Southern Iraq. The facilities are to be upgraded and developed in-country and the ideal candidates will be degree qualified Engineers with extensive site based engineering, construction and commissioning/start up experience.
• To provide technical assistance, direction, and support to the project team on all engineering, construction, Commissioning and Start Up phases of the project.
• To liaise with the clients In-Country team
• To liaise with the clients local operations and maintenance staff
• Be a key member of the commissioning and start up team.
• To oversee site contractors during construction and commissioning activities
• Assist in development of the design ensuring it can be built
• Interface with office based engineering staff and client and contractors on site.
• Trouble-shooting the design, identifying and resolving issues with engineering and/or fabricator by raising and resolution of Site/Technical Queries.
• To attend daily/weekly progress meetings and generate status reports for the In-country focal point.
• Plan, direct, and execute work, including equipment in the field, to meet project objectives
• Provide input to and feedback on implementation of Site Engineering Standards and procedures.
• Interact with subcontractors during construction phase of a project

Requirements

Education and Skills
• Technical leadership in your given field of engineering
• Strong engineering, commissioning, start up and operations experience in an upstream business and be adept at working in a multi-disciplined, multi-cultural team.
• Familiar with the typical software packages that are used for design
• Thorough awareness of international codes and standards
• Proficient in the use of Excel and Word.
• Strong commitment to safety
• Willing to implement new initiatives, open to new ideas, can move innovative ideas to successful outcomes
• Excellent negotiating skills
• Ability to establish long term relationships based on the strategy of trusted advisor role
• Experience of participation in HAZOP / HAZID studies
• Strong engineering, construction and commissioning/start up experience in an upstream business and be adept at working in a multi-disciplined, multi-cultural team.
• Proven track record of demonstrating success at delivering against asset integrity plans, small/medium projects and experience of working in SIMOPS conditions successfully influencing partners to improve performance and change work practices.
• Ability to analyse problems, assess risk profile, determine action, and develop solutions, communicating intentions and progress to all levels
• Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
