The RoleThe RoleProfile: The Field Operator will work as part of a small shift team and support and assist the Control Room Engineer in main and auxiliary plant operations. Reporting to the Control Room Engineer, the role requires a range of knowledge and skills, such that you have a detailed understanding and practical experience associated to local operation of modern combined cycle gas turbine, desalination and a wide range of auxiliary plant. Core Competencies Technical •Technical competence within appropriate disciplines of industrial engineering •Understanding of combined cycle gas turbine plant layout, operating parameters and practices. •Understanding of desalination plant layout, operating parameters and practices •Understanding of associated auxiliary plant layout, operating parameters and practices •Ability to monitor the performance of the plant locally within a varying range of load conditions •Ability to provide support to incidents in emergency situations •Anticipating and responding effectively to the operational demands on the station •Practical knowledge of plant isolations from system •Knowledge of local environmental legislation and principles of management •Knowledge of Health & Safety and company safety rules •Computer literacy Personal •Using sound judgment and common sense •Ability to use energy and enthusiasm to generate results •Ability to achieve objectives to time and budget •Good understanding of integrating multicultural staff into one team •Good problem solving skills •Showing initiative |
RequirementsRequirementsExperience: Candidates that have had a minimum of 2 years experience in the operation of modern gas turbine and desalination plants or similar industrial processes would be preferred, although consideration may be given to candidates that have recently graduated to a satisfactory standard, from reputable technical training colleges. Education: An engineering related education to diploma level is the minimum requirement |
